Dart Container Expands Molded Fiber Packaging Capacity at Pennsylvania Facility
LANCASTER, PA, October 13, 2026 – Dart Container, a trusted leader in producing and supplying foodservice packaging for more than 65 years, has expanded molded fiber manufacturing capabilities at its Lancaster, Pennsylvania, facility.
The Lancaster facility recently reached full operational capacity and is producing molded fiber trays, containers, bowls and other food packaging products. The site is helping Dart meet growing customer demand for renewable, compostable packaging options backed by a robust supply chain.
“Our Lancaster facility represents Dart's most recent investment in our strategy to bring more fiber packaging solutions to market,” said John Phlipot, Senior Vice President Fiber Development. “By expanding our US manufacturing capabilities, we’re able to provide customers with innovative fiber packaging backed by our resilient supply network, technical expertise and the scale needed to support long-term growth.”
The expansion in Lancaster demonstrates Dart’s commitment to building a reliable, domestic supply of quality molded fiber options for foodservice, retail and prepared food applications. Dart has offered molded fiber products since 2008 and began investing in domestic manufacturing in 2019 at its first fiber facility in Mason, MI.
The company has continued its legacy of innovation by adopting both wet molded fiber and next-generation dry molded fiber technologies to meet performance and sustainability demands.

Dart fiber products:
- Are grease-resistant and PFAS-free
- Are home and commercially compostable
- Contain 75% or more renewable resources
- Can be used for hot or cold foods
- Can be used for reheating in a microwave or conventional oven (up to 400 degrees F for a maximum of 30 minutes)\
